In most cases, the names I use in the journal are not the actual ones.
 

Family

Edward - My cousin; specifically, my Dad's younger brother's son, and younger brother to Jane.  Currently works for the YMCA.

Auntie Hannah - A homemaker, married to Uncle Tom, my Dad's youngest brother.  Took care of me after school when I was little.  Edward and Jane's mom.

Jane - My cousin; specifically, my Dad's younger brother's daughter.  Works as a waste reduction officer for the Greater Vancouver Regional District.

Nora - My sister-in-law, also a public school teacher, but not at the same school as Richard.

Richard - My brother, older by 17 years; lives in Maple Ridge; is a public school teacher.

Suzanna - My sister, 20 years older than me, who was killed in 1980.

Uncle Tom - My Dad's youngest brother, a retired engineer.  Married to Auntie Hannah, father to Edward and Jane.
 

Work

Anne - An optometric assistant who has been working here for 2 years.  She will move to Oliver, BC, with her husband and daughter, at the end of January 2000.  She will be missed.

Barbara - A long-time optician who started working part-time in February 2000, replacing Anne.  Married and a mother of three.  She has a boisterous sense of humour and is fun to work with.

Dr. McKenzie - My boss, and the owner of the clinic.  The clinic is located on the main floor of her house, and she and her family live upstairs.  She has a husband and 3 children; the 2 boys, ages 6 and 3, are autistic.

Elizabeth - The office manager, who is fantastic.  I love her dearly.  She's never afraid to tell it like it is.  She became a grandmother at age 45 (3 years ago) and loves it.

Lynda - An associate optometrist who started working here in January 2000.  Extremely friendly and gorgeous to boot, I imagine she has to fight off a lot of guys when she's not working (and sometimes when she is).

Mary - My co-worker on Saturdays.  She also works at another job on weekdays, and she's been doing it for years.  I wonder why that schedule hasn't killed her yet.

Roberta - An associate optometrist who started working here in November 1999.  She recently moved back to the Lower Mainland after spending several years in Japan with her husband.
 

Friends

Craig - Former co-worker from the music store.  Very good friends with Leigh.

Daniel - I met Daniel in late 1997 over the internet.  I've since met him in person and he's a real sweetie.

David - My former best friend from the music store.  We were very close for several years before we drifted apart.  Read the April 20, 2000 entry for details.

Leigh - Former co-worker from the music store, and one of the most naturally outgoing people I know.

Marie - Married to David, who would rather not be referred to as "David's wife".  One of the strongest, most opinionated, and independent persons I know.

Ron - He was a patient at the clinic who surprised the hell out of me by asking me out one day (read the August 19, 2000 entry for details).  He broke up with me in October, after I'd really started to fall hard for him too!  Hopefully we can remain friends.
 

Ex-Boyfriend

Elliott - We saw each other off and on for nine months before he broke up with me by ceasing to acknowledge my existence.
